CMUCam Pro allows the user to perform high level tasks through CMU Camera v1, without having to know the complex details of dealing with the camera. The software ensures the proper operation of CMU Camera and filters the errors caused in the operation.

CMUCam System: Complete CMU Camera System for PC
The CMU Vision System is based on the object tracking technology developed at Carnegie Mellon University.
The CMU-01 Pro software, feature above, is included in the package. This system will allow one to explore all the vision tracking properties of the CMU-01 camera, using the serial port of a Windows Based PC. Connection of the CMU camera requires one serial port. For additional tracking features to be utilized, such as real time tracking via SMC-04 servo motor controller requires a second available serial port on the PC.
To fully utilize this system the Windows PC requires two available serial ports.

CMUCam1: Robot Vision Camera
Real Time Image Recognition and Tracking.
The CMU cam developed at Carnegie Mellon University provides real time object tracking vision system that is easy to interface to micro controllers and personal computers. The CMU cam performs onboard real time image processing for object and color recognition. The board communicates via a RS-232 or a TTL serial port and has the following functionality:
- Track user defined color blobs at up to 50 Frames Per Second*
- Track motion using frame differences at 26 Frames Per Second
- Find the centroid of any tracking data
- Gather mean color and variance data
- Gather a 28 bin histogram of each color channel
- Manipulate Horizontally Pixel Differenced Images
- Transfer a real-time binary bitmap of the tracked pixels in an image
- Arbitrary image windowing
- Adjust the camera’s image properties
